Godinez Richters Law & Consulting, LLC supports BIPOC, women, and LGBTQ+ led nonprofits and small businesses by offering comprehensive and accessible expertise to help our clients carry out their missions and expand their community impact. Leveraging our legal foundation and nonprofit backgrounds, our goal is to handle the legal challenges our clients face so they can focus on what matters most.

Together, Rose and Scout bring over 20 years of experience as attorneys, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit leaders. Having been business-owners, nonprofit lawyers, and coalition partners, they deeply understand the pressures nonprofits and small businesses face. Beyond their litigation, policy, and advocacy experience, Rose and Scout offer a broad range of experience across nonprofit operations, including compliance, development, communications, community organizing, and more.

Rose is a seasoned nonprofit leader and attorney with over a decade of experience supporting mission-driven organizations. Licensed to practice law in both Nebraska and Missouri, Rose’s expertise spans complex litigation in state and federal courts, legal compliance, strategic policy advocacy, and community organizing.
Throughout her professional career, Rose has led many successful litigation and advocacy campaigns including to restore voting rights for Nebraskans with criminal records and to ban natural hair and headdress discrimination in Nebraska schools.
Rose was invited to testify before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis in 2021, was an Inspire Award finalist in 202X, and is a 2025 winner of Inclusive Communities’ Humanitarian of the Year award.

Scout Richters
Managing Partner

Scout has more than ten years of experience as an attorney and nonprofit professional. Scout’s work has focused on complex legal research and writing, compliance, policy advocacy, and grant applications and reports. Scout enjoys using her background, education, and experiences to offer strategic and actionable advice to her clients.
Not only has Scout handled a wide range of legal matters including juvenile court cases, civil rights cases, and employment cases, Scout also has extensive experience leading and co-leading successful legislative campaigns at the Nebraska Unicameral Legislature including the years long effort to limit the use of juvenile solitary confinement culminating in the passage of 2020 legislation that has been described as the most comprehensive ban in the entire country.
Scout’s work has been published in the Brooklyn Journal of Law & Policy and The Nebraska Lawyer magazine. Scout has also authored and co-authored numerous comprehensive reports and is a regular Continuing Legal Education presenter. With her background in journalism and recent certification in digital marketing, Scout is able to assist her clients in all aspects of their communications efforts regardless of the medium, purpose, or audience.
